A Surprise Proposal in Paris: Camila & Felipe
How It All Began
It was Camila who first contacted me for a photo session at the Eiffel Tower. But on the day of the shoot, the one who truly stole the spotlight with a beautiful and unexpected gesture was Felipe — he had secretly planned a marriage proposal!
Sometimes, boyfriends planning to propose reach out to me beforehand to share their plans and make sure everything goes smoothly.
Felipe didn’t.
And the funny thing is — right before we started the session at Trocadéro, we spent quite some time chatting about marriage. I think there was a bride nearby, and that brought up the topic. Camila said she really wanted to get married — after all, they’d been together for eight years and were deeply in love.
But she explained that, for now, it would be impossible: work and medical studies were taking up all her time, energy, and money.
Felipe listened quietly, smiling. I can’t quite explain why, but I had a feeling — a quiet intuition — that he was preparing to take that step.
The Secret Moment
I didn’t have a chance to speak with him alone, and even if I had, I wouldn’t have dared to ask if he was planning to propose — it could have been just my imagination.
Still, just in case, when we arrived at the spot where we would begin shooting, I explained to both of them the route we’d take for the session. Then I made a point of looking Felipe in the eyes and telling him that this exact spot was “the main stage” — the most beautiful and iconic view of the Eiffel Tower. The place where everything happens.
I know that when a man is about to propose, he often has a small box in his pocket — and that he’s usually nervous.
So I started the session with two or three simple poses, not too close or intimate, just to give him a chance to get comfortable — and so Camila wouldn’t notice anything unusual, like a little box hidden in his jacket.
Then, I set up a scene that would make it easy for Felipe to take action. I asked them to face each other. Then I asked Felipe to kneel down and kiss Camila’s hand.
He understood immediately — this was the moment.
And then, magic happened.
A Burst of Emotion
What an explosion of feelings! Camila’s reaction was everything!
She’s such a radiant, joyful young woman — her emotions right on the surface. She just couldn’t believe it! It was pure, overwhelming happiness — a beautiful chaos of tears, laughter, and love.
I couldn’t help but capture every single second of that moment. Sometimes, words aren’t enough — only images can truly express the emotion that took place there.
The Perfect Autumn Morning
After the most euphoric “yes” I’ve ever witnessed, the session continued just as you’d imagine — full of laughter, joy, and conversation. They’re both incredibly sweet people.
Camila had chosen the Eiffel Tower & Surroundings package (a two-hour session). We began at Trocadéro — the “main stage” — then moved through the stairs and gardens. After the obligatory stop by the carousel, we strolled along the Seine and finished on the Bir-Hakeim Bridge, where you get another postcard-perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and the river.
Since it was autumn, we picked up a few fallen leaves from the ground and created a lovely shot featuring the engagement ring — the perfect ending to an unforgettable morning.
