Complete Proposal Guide & Tips
A wedding proposal is one of the most meaningful milestones in a couple’s journey — the first step toward a lifetime together.
And where better to begin this chapter than Paris, the most romantic city in the world? Many couples dream of that unforgettable moment in front of the Eiffel Tower and they will definitely need an amazing Paris proposal photographer.

Such a symbolic occasion deserves to be captured with professionalism, sensitivity, and heart. I would be delighted to be your Paris proposal photographer and guide you from the very first moment.
Here’s your step-by-step guide to planning and capturing your proposal in Paris
1. The Surprise
The first decision is whether your proposal should be a complete surprise.
You have two options:
– Book a Paris photoshoot together, and then surprise your partner with the proposal during the session.
– Plan a complete surprise proposal, with your partner totally unaware until the big moment.

Think about your partner’s personality. Does she (or he) care a lot about looking prepared for photos? If yes, it might be better that they know about the shoot in advance. If not, or if they’re the type to always dress beautifully in Paris, you can go all-in with the surprise.
2. The Timing
With all my experience as a Paris proposal photographer, I recommend you to plan your Paris proposal photoshoot within the first few days of your trip. You’ll have more energy, and the following days will be even sweeter, as you’ll already be celebrating as fiancés.
Another benefit: if weather or schedules change, we’ll still have time to reschedule.

For the best results, I prefer shooting during the day. Natural light in Paris makes the photos flow effortlessly, highlighting movement, emotion, and spontaneity — no stiff poses.

3. The Location
Paris is full of iconic backdrops — and of course, nothing says romance like the Eiffel Tower.
My personal favorite? The Seine River. It offers stunning views and a touch of privacy away from the crowds. If you wish to add more privacy and exclusivity, I recommend you to rent a private tour on a boat by the Seine. It is just amazing and you won’t regret it.
Other magical spots include:
The charming alleys of Île Saint-Louis
Historic bridges like Pont Neuf
The beautiful Tuileries Garden near the Louvre
Or even a cozy corner at a Parisian café!

Many clients ask me about proposing at dinner in a restaurant: it can be tricky to bring in a paris proposal photographer discreetly, as French culture values privacy in restaurants. I recommend proposing outdoors, then surprising your partner with a romantic dinner afterwards.
4. The Proposal Moment
On the big day, I’ll arrive 10 minutes early to our meeting point, staying in touch via WhatsApp.
You’ll know exactly where to stand — and when you’re ready, take a deep breath and ask the question!
For surprise proposals, I’ll be walking around as a tourist, camera in hand, ready to capture the moment.
Go classic with the knee-drop, or keep it simple with whispered words. There are no rules — only your love story.
I’ll move closer gradually, documenting the entire moment with authenticity and care. Afterward, I’ll introduce myself, and we’ll continue with a romantic engagement photoshoot in Paris.

5- Vídeo OPTION
I’m a photographer, and I focus exclusively on photography. But if you’d like a video, I can:
- Record the proposal on my phone so you can edit it later with music, OR
- Recommend a professional videographer to join us.
6. Music & Extras
Most couples keep it simple with words from the heart. But adding music or flowers can make it extra special.
I once photographed a proposal at Trocadéro where the groom-to-be brought a small speaker in his bag, playing their favorite songs as they walked together.
She realized what was happening only when he dropped to one knee — unforgettable!

Remember: simplicity is powerful. What truly matters is the intention and love you bring to the moment.
Even after years as a Professional Paris proposal photographer, I still feel the same butterflies at every proposal.
My experience allows me to guide and support you, while my heart ensures I capture the raw emotion of this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
I’d be honored to be your partner-in-crime, your silent witness, and your storyteller on one of the happiest days of your life.
